Tech - Friend or Foe?

Tech — Friend or Foe?

I'll be honest with you. I didn't grow up with a smartphone in my hand. My generation learned to type on actual typewriters, navigated with paper maps, and thought a "stream" was something you paddled in on a school trip.

So when words like "AI", "analytics", and "automation" started appearing in every business conversation, my instinct was to smile politely and hope nobody asked me a direct question.

Sound familiar?

Here's what I've learned, though — and it surprised me. Tech isn't really about technology. It's about people. It's about understanding what your customers need, reaching them in the right place at the right time, and making your working life a bit less frantic. The tools are just the tools. You don't need to understand how a car engine works to drive somewhere useful.

What I've discovered working with the team at Gingerbread is that the question isn't "am I a tech person?" — because honestly, I'm not sure I'll ever be one. The real question is: "what do I want my business to do, and is there something that could help it do that better?"

That's a question I can get behind.

The blogs on this site break things down without the jargon, the overwhelm, or the assumption that you already know what a "conversion funnel" is. (I didn't. I do now — it just means turning someone who's browsing into someone who actually buys.) Whether you're curious about AI, wondering if your social media is actually working, or just trying to make sense of your data — there's something here for you.

You don't have to become a tech wizard. You just have to be a tiny bit curious. And if you're reading this, you already are.

Start here. Have a look around. Ask the questions you think you shouldn't have to ask. That's exactly what this space is for.
